6 Week Stress Reduction and Self-Regulation Group Coaching Programme
Outline
This six-week group coaching programme is designed for leaders who want to cultivate healthy habits to reduce stress, improve their ability to regulate emotional responses and increase their resilience and well-being. Ultimately, they will become better equipped to lead in these times of accelerating change and complexity.
This programme is grounded in science and includes an advanced biofeedback device called the Inner Balance Coherence Plus from HeartMath that measures Heart Rate Variability (HRV) and Coherence in real-time. These measures have been extensively researched for over 30 years and are reliable indicators of how we respond to stress. By using the Inner Balance sensor, participants receive real-time feedback that enables them to see the impact of their learning, fine-tune their approach and monitor progress over time.
Format
We meet weekly via Zoom for six weeks. Each session will last up to 90 minutes. In our first session, we'll take time to get to know each other, create our group learning agreement, set individual goals and ensure everyone is comfortable with the technology we'll be using. Over the following weeks, we'll explore the causes of stress, energy depletion and renewal, practice a powerful technique for self-regulation and discover ways to build supportive habits.
As this is a group coaching programme rather than a group training session, each participant will be actively engaged and have time to reflect on their unique situation and develop individualised strategies. Between each session, participants will be encouraged to practice, experiment and monitor their progress.

Requirements
- Attend all six group coaching sessions.
- Minimise distractions at each session so you can be fully focused and present - sessions are not recorded.
- Ensure you join each session from a space that affords privacy so you can feel comfortable practising and using the Inner Balance sensor.
- Be willing to experiment and practice between sessions (at a minimum, you'll want to give yourself 10-20 minutes a day)
- If you have a pacemaker, you can benefit from the learning throughout the group coaching programme; however, depending on the type of pacemaker, there may be no benefit in using the biofeedback device to measure HRV. Pacemakers that continually pace the heart will ensure that the heart beats at the same rate; therefore, changes in the HRV in response to the nervous system are impossible. - To use the Inner Balance Coherence Plus sensor, you'll need an Android or iOS device that meets the following:
- iOS 16.0 or greater
- Android v9.0 or above
- Bluetooth v4.0 or higher.
- Able to install applications from the official Apple/Android app stores.
