As a certified mental fitness coach with Positive Intelligence®, Stephen brings this 8-week programme to like-minded engineers and technologists interested in quietening their inner saboteurs and developing mental fitness and resilience.
Build Powerful Habits for a Positive Mind
Most attempts at positive change fail because we stop at insight and don’t build habits. Sustained change towards a more positive mind requires laying down neural pathways to form new habits through consistent daily practice. And that’s
what our program design empowers you to do.
15 minutes/day of app-guided practice enables you to establish mental muscles (neural pathways). These exercises are bite-sized to fit your busy schedule and customised based on how you self-sabotage.
Weekly hour-long video delivers deep experiential exploration of the week’s focus. You’ll feel inspired and energised to practice during the week in order to sustain the benefits experienced during the video sessions.
Weekly POD Coaching Session
Each week during the programme, you will join the other participants for a one-hour group coaching session with Stephen when you have the opportunity to share and reflect on the learning journey. Research has shown this to be a critical success factor for establishing lasting new positive habits of the mind.
What makes this programme different?
Through factor analysis, Positive Intelligence® has discovered the core operating system of the mind can run a massive variety of work and life applications. One simple operating system with many applications. Similar to physical fitness, mental fitness is not short-term training. Rather, it focuses on providing you with sustainable skills and practices you can use for the rest of your life.
Focus on Habit Formation
Most trainings result in short-lived improvements. For sustained results, we focus on building neural pathways that form lasting new habits.
Develop all 3 core muscles
Mental fitness requires three core muscles. Saboteur Interceptor, Self-Command and Sage. Mediation only focuses on Self-Command, which is why it’s not sustained by most.
Treat Root Cause, not Symptoms
Factor analysis research has revealed the foundational root-level enablers and disablers of optimal performance and well-being. We rewire the brain at the root cause level.
Stephen run’s the mental fitness programme over 8 weeks, with a one hour group/pod coaching session each week. The Positive Intelligence® app will deliver learning and content for six weeks with the option to extend.
Introductions & Getting Started
We meet online as a group, make introductions and build our learning agreement to create a safe, confidential and inclusive learning space for all participants. Stephen will outline the programme and ensure everyone is set up with the PQ® application and ready to start.
Through a breakthrough process called PQ Reps, you get to boost your Self-Command muscle. Each PQ Rep only takes 10 seconds and can be done with eyes open or closed. With each PQ Rep, you develop greater mastery over your own mind, quiet the negative, and activate the positive region of your brain.
Saboteur Interceptor Muscle
You get to intercept your top Saboteurs the moment they try to hijack your thoughts, feelings, and actions. In preparation for this practice, you get to expose the lies, limiting beliefs and damage of your Saboteurs, so they can no longer fool you into thinking they are helpful to you.
You get to practice the Sage Perspective that every problem or challenge can be converted into a gift and opportunity. And you get to generate the gift through the 5 Sage Powers of Empathise, Explore, Innovate, Navigate, and Activate.
Sustaining your practice
In our final session, we talk about how to sustain your practice going forward and close out our learning group.
The next 8 week programme will start on the 6th March 2023 and meeting from 5-6 pm (Irish time) on the following dates: 6th, 13th, 20th, and 27th of March, 11th (Tues), 17th, and 24 of April and 2nd (Tues) of May 2023.

Is this the right program for me?
This is the right program for you if you are a) committed to improving your performance and effectiveness dramatically while reducing stress, b) looking for a science-based and trusted system to make it stick, and c) willing to put in the initial effort to rewire years of mental habits that don’t serve you.
Aren’t negative emotions sometimes helpful?
Some people believe that negative emotions are helpful. For example, they think stress gives them their performance edge, or beating themselves or others up is helpful for continual improvement.
Feeling pain for a split second when your hand touches a hot stove is indeed useful, delivering an important alert. But your Saboteurs keep your hand on the hot stove, continuing to feel negative emotions which harm both performance and happiness.
In this program we learn to use negative emotions as a helpful alert, and then quickly shift to the positive region of the brain that has the calm clarity, objectivity, and creativity to handle the challenge most effectively.
How much time and effort is required?
You will be committing to watching a 1-hour video once per week and doing a combined total of 15 minutes per day of practice, guided by the Positive Intelligence® app. Once a week, for a total of 8 weeks, you will join a one hour group/pod coaching session where we will share the learning and support each other.
This might sound like a lot of time. Cumulatively, it constitutes less than 2% of your awake time for the duration of the programme. Please consider that your Saboteurs are costing you far more than 2% of your time, effort, energy, and productivity. Consider how much more than 2% of time and productivity this eight-week investment will save for years to come.
Who else will be on the programme
Stephen runs each programme with a maximum of 8 participants. Usually, participants don’t know each other, and Stephen will ensure that we build an agreement that allows every participant to feel fully supported, respected and safe throughout the programme. Sharing is encouraged, and together we support each other’s learning journey. As Stephen usually works with engineers and technologists, other participants will come from these disciplines.
