Whilst eating healthy and exercising are essential components to living a healthier lifestyle, these alone aren’t enough – otherwise we’d all be doing it already!  The challenge is that we hold onto many patterns, habits and beliefs that prevent us from achieving our health and fitness goals.  However, help is at hand and you are not alone.

If you’ve answered yes to most of the questions above, then this coaching programme might be right for you.  This programme has two formats.  One brings together a small group of people looking to achieve similar health goals in 2021 and the other is a bespoke coaching programme, delivered one-to-one.  Whether it’s about become more healthy, losing weight or some other health related goal, you no longer need to go it alone.

This group and individual coaching programme is different from a diet or exercise programme – this is about digging deeper: helping you identify and disrupt patterns and limiting-beliefs that have been getting in the way of your health and fitness related goals.  You’ll learn how to build new patterns of behaviours and habits that will support you on your journey.  You’ll develop accountability methods that will support you on your journey and set goals that you can achieve.

Whilst diet and exercise are an essential part of becoming fit and healthy, the main focus of this group coaching programme is about looking inside at your own beliefs, thought-patterns and motivations.  It is from here you can start to make changes that, through lifestyle changes and different choices, will support you on the path to achieving your goals.

Why work with Stephen?

Back in the days before 2011, I used to be a hefty 127kg in weight (20 Stone).  Today, I’m half the man I used to be and now average 62kg. Prior to making my own changes, I would have gone on various ‘diets’ and then celebrated minor achievements by rewarding myself with food (usually pizza!).  Then, as I plateaued, I lost motivation and put back on any weight that I’d lost.  However, in 2011, I started to make lifestyle changes that enabled me to achieve sustainable weight loss.  As I lost weight, I regained my own health and fitness, which provided the encouragement I needed to stay the course.  One year later, I ran the Dublin Marathon in under 4 hours and since then, I’ve run the Dublin Marathon 3 times, and completed an ultra-marathon. I now feel healthier and fitter than I have ever done before.

In reality, I never set out to become 20 stone.  And I was in denial about it being a problem.  Despite being this weight, I was still active, engaging in activities such as squash, rock climbing and other pursuits.  However it was hard.  And then one day, I was overcome with pain that meant I couldn’t do any form of exercise.  Getting a good night’s sleep was no longer possible without taking ibuprofen otherwise I’d wake up at 2am in agony.  I was now experiencing chronic pain and realised that something had to change.  My chronic pain symptoms where treated through various medical and physiotherapy  interventions, none of which worked.  It was only when I started making lifestyle changes that things started to change.  Now, several years later, I’ve kept the weight off and I’m living a much healthier lifestyle.   One that is much more sustainable than a yo-yo diets that never really worked for me.

Along the way, I’ve looked inside to reframe the beliefs, habits and patterns that weren’t supporting me, and the relationship I had to certain comfort foods.   Now, as a credentialed coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF), I’ve also realised how coaching can benefit others wanting to travel a similar path,  to empower them to tap into what they already have inside.  Hopefully, I can help others before they reach the tipping point of chronic pain that forced me into action.

There are two options for this programme.

 

The first is a 10 month online group coaching programme consists of a blend of coaching and theory to support you on your health and fitness journey.  Each session is three hours long (inclusive of a 15minute break).  Groups are limited to a maximum of eight people who will stay together for the duration of the programme.

 

The first workshop will be a blend of theory and practical aspects as it provides the foundation for us working together.  It will establish the visions and goals for each participant, metrics to support your desired outcomes and track progress, along with pairing everyone up with an ‘accountability’ buddy for peer support between the workshops.  

 

Each month, subsequent workshops will involve a blend of individual and group coaching, to empower participants to stay the course and overcome any hurdles, and the introduction of any relevant theory.

 

Alternatively, the programme can be run on an individual basis where we work one-on-one to tailor the programme to your specific needs. 

Starting in February 2021, groups will typically meet virtually on the last Saturday of each month, or on a weeknight (6-9pm) on the last week of each month.  Exact times and options will be confirmed once I have a sense of numbers.  Tailored individual programmes can be commenced at any time.

As a special introductory offer, the first version of this group coaching programme is being offered at a discounted price of €500 + Irish VAT.  Future versions of this programme will revert to the normal price of €999 + Irish VAT.
